Olumide Iyanda

Olumide Iyanda is the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Mighty Media Plus Network Limited, owner of the online newspaper Qed.ng and web TV channel QedTV.

Iyanda is a 1997 History graduate of the University of Ibadan. He obtained a Master of International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos in 2000.

He started professional journalism in 1999 as a Reporter/Researcher with Tempo Magazine.

In June 2001, he moved to Punch Nigeria Limited as a correspondent, making a name with Saturday Punch for his thorough and exciting handling of the entertainment pages. Beyond entertainment, he also conducted engaging and no-holds-barred interviews with eminent personalities in politics, business and other sectors.

He left Punch in April 2004 as Staff of the Year of Saturday Punch.

Iyanda moved to Independent Newspapers Limited as the pioneer Features Editor of Saturday Independent in 2004 and served the company in different capacities, becoming in September 2007 Editor, Saturday Independent, a position he held till December 2013.

He founded Mighty Media in 2014 and has made QED one of Nigeria’s most trusted sources of news and entertainment.

Well-respected in the media circle, he is the Assistant General Secretary of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) and a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).

Iyanda is married with children.
